First thoughts
3 weeks in India. India is a country I have only recently been interested in visiting. I don't exactly know why but before about a year ago I never had a burning desire to visit it. I'm not sure exactly the deciding factor but when I saw the opportunity to go for a 3 week scholarship programme funded by the British council, I went for it. Being chosen from 4300 other applicants and the chance to go with other UK students seemed an opportunity too good to miss. Preparation for the trip was slightly stressful, as after being told we had a place we had to book a flight within days of this news to confirm it! On top of that we had to look into getting injections at the GP and obtaining entry visas. I also had to do some summer shopping as my wardrobe is only suited to the climate of Aberdeen!!! The fact I had such little time to get things done meant they got down with little faffing about! Before I knew it Dad was dropping me off at Glasgow International airport and I had to scour the terminal for other potential UK student who were also travelling to Mumbai. There was about 4 others on my flight in the end and even more in Dubai who had travelled from different parts of the UK. It was nice to have travel companions :)
